This has been a good weekend all around. First of all it's been so nice out it's just crazy. The nights are wonderful. Beyond that, I went shopping and got new shoes, which is a big deal for me, and I also got to see The Matrix again last night. If any of you haven't seen that movie, go see it, it is so fucking awesome. The only thing that sucks about the weekend is that I have to go back to work tomorrow. *sigh*

So I'm sitting here, having a few beers, getting ready for bed, and I'm like, what the fuck, why not write something in my journal since I'm bored off my ass. Of course I dunno what to say. Oh yeah, for all of you who complain about my spelling and grammer, I have one thing to say: "Phuk Yew!" I've also noticed that way to many songs on the radio are about love and relationships. Usually I don't listen to lyrics, but tonight I have been. It's not that I mind really, but it's intresting that the number one thing to talk about in our society as it pertains to music is love. I suppose that means it's important or something, right? :)

Every once and a while I like to look back at things I've written in the past, just to get a sense of what the hell I've been doing with my life. Yesterday I checked out some old journal entries on vitaflo v3, and was surprised at how personal some of my comments were. I'm not saying I wouldn't do that now, however it was interresting that I opened up that much to people I don't really know. Of course, my readership back then was nil. Check it out for yourself.

Today I went and helped John move into his new house. That place is so cool. I can't wait until he has his party and I have my drinking contest with Annette. That's gonna be a fun time.

Last night I saw Star Wars again. For those of you who are doubting the movie, go see it again! It was so much better the second time around. I definitely want to see it a few more times.

+ Friday - May 21, 1999

Last night was a lot of fun. I went over to Scotty and Jessie's with some people from work to drink and we had a really good time. It was a great night all around. I just wish times like that could happen more often. Today I'm feeling the effects, little headache, and my mind is going nuts. For some reason I feel stressed and anxious. There's so much going on in all aspects of my life. But I can't really complain, because most of them are good, and filled with opportunity. It keeps me on my toes, and I need that every once and a while.

I saw The Phantom Menace last night and I thought I'd share my review with you. For those of you who haven't seen it, I'm warning you, some of what I write may be spoilers to you, so read with caution. Just as most books start off slow, introducing characters, etc, The Phantom Menace does in starting the Star Wars saga. It's no where near the excitement of Empire, or even Jedi. And because of this, my initial reaction was one of subtle disapointment. But as I thought about it, this movie really isn't about the mysteries of the Force or redemption of the soul, but rather it's about setting us up for what's to come and why things will happen later. And with this I think it does a pretty good job. My main arguments are that there should have been a little more emotion in this film. I didn't get the feeling certain things were dire enough at times. I also think that Jar Jar should have had half as many lines. He talked WAY too much. But seriously those are the only two main things I can find fault with. Sure, I could get nitpicky like some people have, but I see a larger picture here. A lot of what happened in this one I feel (hope) will be explained/expanded apon in Episodes II and III. Like, does Anikin really not have a father? And why was the Jedi council so quick to judge Anikin to be unfit to be a Jedi if he had more potential than even Yoda? Do they know something? I left the movie feeling unfulfilled, and I think that's why. I believe the questions will be answered and all the stuff people thought was "dumb" or "boring" will in fact turn out to have significance later on. Perhaps they just don't make sense now. That's my hope anyway. What did I like about the movie? The light saber duels. They were stunning and worth the price of admission by themselves. So overal I liked the movie, yet didn't think it was as complete as it could have been, and lacked emotion in certain spots. However, I plan on seeing it a few more times. I remember I didn't think the first Star Wars was all that until I saw Empire and Jedi. Only then did A New Hope fit the grand picture. I'm hoping the same happens with this movie.

Well, tonight's the night that I've been waiting for, I get to finally see Star Wars - The Phantom Menace. I got tickets for the 12:01am showing at the Mall of America. I guess we're all gonna meet out there at 8pm and drink beers at the various bars there. Should be a good time. Most critics really didn't like the movie, though Roger Ebert did. It won't matter to me, cuz I know I'll like it. I'll give you a report on it tomorrow.

+ Friday - May 14, 1999

The thing I love about this new thoughts format is that I can just whip out entries anywhere I have a net connection. Right now I'm in Green Bay, trying to celebrate St. Norbert College's graduation. My sister graduates tonight as well, so I have to sit through that. Unfortunatly that means I'm cutting into Miller Time. Now I realize why we work 8 hours a day. Because sitting around all day waiting until everyone goes out at night is fucking boring.

+ Wednesday - May 12, 1999

I'm tired. And I have to drive 5 hours yet to go to school to celebrate graduation for the weekend. Not that I'm complaining. However this rain sure doesn't help. I suppose I've had so much work to do lately that it'll be nice to get away. To bad the only thing I can think about is going back to bed.

+ Friday - May 7, 1999

Today was the first 1 on 1 game of Pro Modified Office Chair Basketball at the office. It was a pretty brutal game with Scotty going up against Ben, and Ben making some pretty major fouls. Click on this link to view pictures from the contest.

Well hot damn. Vitaflo has just been given the CoolSTOP Best of the Cool Award today. I don't know how they found the site, but I suppose I'm pretty happy that they have it up there. I'm also this months featured site on 6 Million Ways. Not too shabby for something I do in my spare time.

+ Wednesday - May 5, 1999

Damn. Vitaflo is going nuts. I've been watching my log files all day and they're just flying. I've pretty much narrowed it down to one thing. There probably was some email sent to a lot of people, and now they're all swarming to my site. From the looks of the stats, I'd say it's going directly to the new 8-Ball episode. Thought since I don't have a copy of said email, it's sorta hard to prove my hypothesis. In any case, at least on my end, this is pretty interresting to watch.

Some people have been wondering what those little arrows and stuff are underneath every journal entry. Well, that's the Floability Rating. Blatenly ripped off from 0sil8 (with permission), it basically rates every entry on how interesting I find it. The scale is 1-5, with 5 being something that you'll read if you want to be cool, and 1 being something that not even I care about. Have fun.

+ Sunday - May 2, 1999

I've been here all weekend working on vitaflo. Well, besides the new episode, there's a bunch of new shit. One of them is this page. I changed the nav stuff around. Now, all info and whatnot is on the Contents page, and the journal page has changed to Thoughts. I wanted to limit the number of popup windows floating around, and I just wanted to spruce everything up. Now it's time to go home. I search for bugs in all this tommorrow.
